Auto- BIO- Anett Schneider

“Schneider” means Tailor. Both sides of the family-tree were in the textile- business
for Centuries, - either as tailors or as textile business owners or adventurers.
Therefore I started knitting, sewing & crocheting passionately at the age of  seven.
Best dressed Barbie dolls at that time …!
Influenced by the New Wave in the early 80th we used our high school in Northern Germany as stage for creative styles in fashion.
After College I opened my first retail store & studio between Art Studios & Music clubs, serving private customers & the entertainment industry with fantasy fashion in Velvet, Brocade and Leather.
Moving away from my hometown in 1992 my skills were extended by collaborating with industrial fashion designers such as “Albert du Lange”
in Paris and “Albertino” in Casablanca.
Taking a break from the Artist-live I worked very successfully in Sales & Marketing of a large Consulting firm in Germany (Becker and Partner) for a few years in order to get some “business sense” as well as to raise  $ for my future in Fashion.
1997 I graduated in couture pattern design at “Mueller & Son in Dusseldorf-Earning the highest possible degree.
I accepted employment from garment manufactures such as Norma & Gueler as Directrice. Moving on to my own creations for private customers & International Companies such as “ Woody O’ Time”/ Hong Kong.
1999- Immigration to California.
Right away I started work on exclusive fashion for Gallery- type stores such as Polaris Gallery in Carmel,  Origins in Santa Fe & Cicada in San Francisco.
In Northern American “ Wearble-arts movement opened me up to new techniques in surface design & unconventional tailoring like Bias cut & Shiboripainting.
